Courses – a matter of choice
MBT courses cover many topics which are not addressed in most conventional business programs, but which are crucial in today’s technological environment.  The MBT addresses the wide spectrum of knowledge and skills demanded of modern business managers, with activities and assignments providing the opportunity to transfer theory to the workplace.

Participants can tailor their program to their specific needs. There are no set core courses; you choose from the 23 courses on offer that will be of most benefit to you and your career.

Capstone Courses
The two MBT capstone courses Strategic Management of Business and Technology and Management of Innovation and Technical Change have been specifically designed to be undertaken towards the end of either the Graduate Diploma or Master of Business and Technology.
The aim of the capstone courses is to enable graduates to synthesise all their learning across the MBT Program, and to achieve a common understanding of the Master of Business and Technology qualification. Both capstone courses assume knowledge of concepts encountered in a number of other MBT courses and the assignments have been designed to apply your learning not only from the capstone course, but also across your program coursework completed to date.

Recommended Starting Courses
Courses flagged as 'recommended starting courses are those which have the least presumed knowledge and are therefore good starting points. The recommendation is that you commence with business or technology specific courses, or a selection of each, before progressing to more integrative courses.

Facilitating your learning
The teaching staff of the MBT program comprises a mix of full-time UNSW academics together with industry professionals selected on the basis of their specialist knowledge, experience and their teaching ability. This ensures that participants in the program are exposed to a variety of perspectives and approaches, crucial to developing well-rounded knowledge and skills.

Susan Chaplin

The MBT has provided me with a well-rounded base of technical and business knowledge that has practical application in the workplace. It has enhanced my practical operational experience with a broader understanding of strategic business reasoning. My written communication and critical assessment skills have improved enormously as a result of completing the Program. I would not hesitate in recommending this course to anyone who wants to be able to think from new perspectives and improve their workplace performance.
